This is my maternal grandfather and his brothers. The only one of them that I met and know is Uncle Jesse as my grandfather died before I was born. Thanks,Uncle Jesse, for your service to our country!

Now & Then - Featuring Day of the Daffodils by Scrap N Tag

Wow! This is an incredible collection, and the sentiment behind the creation of it is so sweet and sad . . . Carolyn made it to honor her stepfather who passed away from cancer. You can get this collection for free by making a donation of $9.99 to a cancer charity in your area - read full details on Carolyn's blog HERE.
And this is my layout with the collection, featuring me at 2 and me at 37!

Steel Magnolias Quick Page Freebie

Carolyn at Scrap N Tag has a new collection called Steel Magnolias. She has allowed her CT members to create Quick Pages to give away as freebies on our blogs. And today, you get mine!

Whenever I think of magnolias, I am reminded of my grandmother. She has a huge magnolia tree in her front yard that I played under as a child. I can remember trotting my Barbies across fields of moss under the tree and making all kinds of things with the leaves and seed pods from the tree. So here is my grandmother . . . a picture I took of her in January 2008. All papers and elements are from Steel Magnolias, with the exception of the alpha, which is a freebie called Misty Night Alpha by New Life Dreams.

Here is a preview of the entire collection. There are so many wonderful collections in the store right now. Take a few minutes to have a peek here: SCRAP N TAG STORE.

And here is the quick page preview, which looks exactly like my layout but without the alpha.

LINK EXPIRED

The link will only be up for 48 hours, so make sure that you get it while you can! I do hope that you will enjoy it. Oh! And make sure you unzip the file as soon as you get it . . . there just might be another surprise in there!

My Little Man - Featuring My Sunshine by Scrap N Tag

Awwwww . . .

I know that's what you wanted to do when you saw this page. This is my little man when he was just about 3 months old. We had gone outside for some fresh air and he was enjoying his bouncy seat. All of a sudden, I looked down and he had fallen asleep. He was so precious that I had my husband run to get our camera! It's been a long time since I've looked at these pictures, but I'm finally starting to scrap some older pictures, too.

The Not Pouting Look - Lyrics Challenge at DID

This was just too precious. We were trying to make Daniel and Olivia wait to open their gifts when we went to Grandma Sue's, but it was just too much for this 2 year old! He did his best, but you can see the frustration and resignation all over his little face and in the posture of his body. He is so dramatic, and I love it. You can see that his ear is so red in the picture. We found out today that the ear has been turning red because he has an ear infection. Ten days of antibiotics and he'll be good as new. Right now he's been running fever, so he's been all warm and wanting to be held. Cuddling time! Pregnant - 4th and 5th Months

This is a friend of mine that is expecting her first child next year. She is having a girl! She just oozes beauty and happiness. She is going to be the best mother. I remember when her niece was born and she just made over that little one like there was no tomorrow (and still does!). I am so excited to see how she is with her own child!

Me and the Hubby

Me and the hubby at a Christmas party last weekend . . . I used THE CHERYL COLLECTION (hee, hee, hee) to create this masterpiece! This man ADORES me . . . in spite of my imperfections, of which there are many, he just looks past it all and JUST LOVES ME. So amazing that God blessed me with such a wonderful partner. He is an amazing father. Just watching him with the kids makes me want to cry. Tonight he was being especially lovely and kind. He hung out in the den with me and we listened to music while I scrapped. Cool.

So this is a layout for a challenge over at DID . . . another color challenge. Here is the palette:

A Sister is a Little Bit of Childhood . . .

Another challenge at DID . . . this time a color challenge. We were given this color palette:

And this is the layout I created. I used Scrap N Tag's Tahlia kit, and recolored some of the elements. Pretty cool. I am absolutely in love with this kit. If I don't watch out, I'll be using it all the time! This is me and my LOVELY sister Anna (I don't know what I would do without this girl!) at Thanksgiving at my Grandma Hicks' house.

Blossoming

My dear sister is pregnant with her second child and she looks absolutely beautiful. She's having a BOY! Her daughter is absolutely gorgeous, and I'm sure this little one is going to be handsome as well.

I used Carolyn's new kit she created for another CT member, Adelina, that you can find at Scrap N Tag's blog (FOR FREE!: click HERE to visit her blog and download the kit.) I love the colors in this collection. And what is even more exciting is that Carolyn will be creating a collection named after me with colors I have picked. So keep checking back because I'm sure I'm gonna go nuts with that collection when she gets finished with it.

Flourish

I created this layout for a font challenge over at DID (Do It Digi) . . . I used parts of the Secret Garden kit from Chaos Lounge as well as parts of the Kinda Rustic collection by Scrap N Tag. The picture is of my cousin's little one . . . he is the sweetest little thing! Don't you just want to squeeze his cheeks?

My Sister My Friend

This is my youngest sister, Emily. She just celebrated her 17th birthday. I am very blessed to call her not only my sister, but my friend, too! I chose all the flowers on the layout because she is blossoming into such a lovely young woman.
