Steel Magnolias Quick Page Freebie
Carolyn at Scrap N Tag has a new collection called Steel Magnolias. She has allowed her CT members to create Quick Pages to give away as freebies on our blogs. And today, you get mine!
Whenever I think of magnolias, I am reminded of my grandmother. She has a huge magnolia tree in her front yard that I played under as a child. I can remember trotting my Barbies across fields of moss under the tree and making all kinds of things with the leaves and seed pods from the tree. So here is my grandmother . . . a picture I took of her in January 2008. All papers and elements are from Steel Magnolias, with the exception of the alpha, which is a freebie called Misty Night Alpha by New Life Dreams.

My Little Man - Featuring My Sunshine by Scrap N Tag
Awwwww . . .
I know that's what you wanted to do when you saw this page. This is my little man when he was just about 3 months old. We had gone outside for some fresh air and he was enjoying his bouncy seat. All of a sudden, I looked down and he had fallen asleep. He was so precious that I had my husband run to get our camera! It's been a long time since I've looked at these pictures, but I'm finally starting to scrap some older pictures, too.

Get Ready To Fly - Wednesday Do It Digi Challenge at The Shaker Box
What better way to prepare for the upcoming DAY OF LOVE, Valentine's Day, than creating a layout, card, or altered art object featuring wings. Think fat little cherubs, wispy butterflies, the outstretched wings of a bird. Of course, a little red and pink and maybe a few hearts to accompany those wings wouldn't hurt! Use brushes, elements, or papers . . . just use your imagination and take flight! Be sure to post your challenge layouts in the Shakin' Challenges section of the gallery at The Shaker Box.
The layout I chose to do is focusing yet again on my never-ending journey towards self-acceptance. It's all about love. Realizing I am something, even if I'm not everything.

Deck of Me Challenge, Week 1
Today starts our deck of me challenge at The Shaker Box. We are starting a year long journey by creating an art journal on a deck of playing cards.
Emily Falconbridge hosted this 52 week challenge on her blog . . . and we'll be following her challenge prompts for our journey as well.
You will need a deck of playing cards . . . there are jumbo playing cards that will give you a little more room if you think you need it, but the regular size playing cards are typically 2 1/2" x 3 1/2". A digi scrapper can simply create their LO in the 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" format and print it out to be adhered to the card . . . a paper scrapper can go all out . . . or go for a mix of the two and create a hybrid wonder!
The prompt for week one is to write about something you are proud of . . .
Here are my cards (front and back): MY CARD IN THE GALLERY
You can also see Emily's original card (so clever!) here:

Post your cards in the gallery at The Shaker Box HERE.
I am looking forward to seeing all of your creations!

Pansy - Featuring Danielle Engebretson Designs
This is our family cat, Pansy (named by our daughter, who at the time was 4). There is a type of pansy (the flower) that looks like a cat face because of the "whiskers" on the petals, but we didn't find that out until AFTER she had named her.
I used a collection called "My Silly Kitty" by Danielle Engebretson Designs. She is the Digital Sponsor of the Month at The Shaker Box. You can find out more about Danielle Engebretson by visiting The Shaker Box blog (link in sidebar).

Legacy - Faith Discovery Challenge #3
