I loved being able to get shots of the Grand Canyon on the flight into Las Vegas. It seemed otherworldly, with the landscape being bare of foliage and intersected with deep crevasses in the earth. I only wish I had taken time to drive out to the canyon.

 My son was always adventurous, but these steep steps with no handrail caused him to pause. Eventually, he did climb them and enjoyed a great view of Fort Pickens/Gulf Islands National Seashore.
