Common Destiny
A throw back to July of '05 . . . when Daniel was a little over a week old. It was amazing to me what a connection my children had with each other, and that they still have. I know their common destiny is one of greatness!

PB&J
Avery
This past weekend, I took some photos for some friends who renewed their vows. It was special to me, 'cause they had their ceremony at my mom's house, at the arbor where Jay proposed to me. It was a horrible rainy day, but God opened the sky right at 1 pm and they were able to have a beautiful and meaningful ceremony.
In the midst of this is their daughter, Avery. Oh my goodness, this girl is the cutest thing! I must have taken 50 pictures of her alone. While I was crying because of Chuck and Tracy's vows they read, this child was balancing it all out by just being herself and playing with her flower and her mom's bouquet ~ it was definitely a laugh while you cry kind of day.
Be on the lookout for more layouts featuring this very happy family!

Little Things
I happened to catch this expression on Olivia's face while I was taking some pics recently. She's like me and tends to worry about the little things that don't make a different. So here's my advice: Don't let the little things bug you!

Lanterns Like Flowers
"By now the trees were quite black, the sky was gone but round about hung the coloured lanterns, like flowers. She would have liked to walk round and kiss each one." Karin Michaels from "The First Party" (translated from Danish)
So if you know me, you know I have a small obsession with lamps/soft lighting of any kind. I really love lanterns like these, but have held off on decorating our gazebo with them because they wouldn't hold up in the weather. We're talking about putting a cover on our patio and doing away with the gazebo (which has lasted 3 years, but is now in the midst of its final death throes). I think if we get the cover, then I'll definitely have to put up these lanterns AND I'll have to put this quote up as a wall hanging, too. I love it. Yes, I know I'm odd, but I really identify with wanting to walk round and kiss each one. Aren't they just fat and happy?

me
I completed this layout for this week's Scraplift Challenge at Funky Playground Designs. We got to choose one of the layouts that's in the favorites thread, and I chose Cherry's layout, "Just Me." I hardly did it justice ~ she is one amazing scrapper ~ but I sure had a lot of fun. I love using repetition in my layouts, especially with photos, but I think this is the most I've ever used. I really enjoyed studying her page . . . her use of space and her sizing of photos and elements really is much different than my usual. It was nice to try something different.

How Do You Build A Rainbow?
Studio Maya @ Scrapbookgraphics just released this collection called Blue Moon that is just different and cool and edgy. Like most scrappers, for the most part I choose to scrap the pretty, cute, happy, cheerful things in life . . . but sometimes my life is just not that way. I have suffered with depression for a long time, and even with medication, it's often difficult to get out from under those dark clouds. Digi scrapping allows me to be creative, allows me to escape from that darkness for a while, so I made this layout to explore how I feel.
By the way, I do know the answer to the question on my layout . . . you build a rainbow one color at a time! Or with a whole lot of prayer!
