I loved being able to get shots of the Grand Canyon on the flight into Las Vegas. It seemed otherworldly, with the landscape being bare of foliage and intersected with deep crevasses in the earth. I only wish I had taken time to drive out to the canyon.

My mom-in-law, Judy, also known as "Mom" and "Nanny" turned 80 years old at the end of February. We had a taco fiesta for her mid-March. Greg and Vanessa hosted and provided the cake and decorations, Jay made all the food, and I made the slideshow, party sign, and guest book. Don't you think she looks way younger? I do!

Calvinball Layout #16

We had a photo shoot in Mama's living room to highlight three generations of UWF Alumnae ~ Mama, me, and Olivia ~ in the Connections magazine for alumni and friends. The photos were taken January 17th. The UWF Connections Spring 2024 issue was released two weeks after Mama's death. Now, at almost a full year since she left us, Mama's name is the first in the list of In Memoriam alumni in the latest Connections issue. I miss you every day, Mama, and I'm so grateful for everything you poured into our lives. Anna, Olivia, and I are strong, educated women, and we live on beautifully, following your example. Photo taken 1/17/24 and journaling from a FB post on 10/7/24.

Today's Adventure

I spent the weekend with Uncle Jack and Aunt Jan. We went out to eat, we went shopping, we watched TV shows and movies, we went to church, and we took a nap or two. On Monday, Aunt Jan and I organized and crafted in her amazing craft room. Being with them makes me so happy. I'm such an introvert, but going to their place fills me up and I come home with a renewed appreciation for all my loved ones. So I'll just say "see you soon" - and I will!

These photos were taken about two weeks before President Trump declared a nationwide emergency, and states began shutdowns for schools and a variety of businesses. We had no idea that we wouldn’t be shopping in stores for months and months. So glad we stocked up on supplies! Olivia and I went to Michael’s in Pace to shop for Happy Planner supplies. The shelves were restocked, and we were able to get someof the new releases as well as some accessories that were on sale or clearance. Love our happy faces and Happy Planners! Olivia Ashcraft
